In a fractious and divided world, which increasingly feels like it’s descending into Hell, Oh My God! It’s The Church are the sweet salvation you didn’t know your soul has been craving. They aren’t the Church that anybody expected, but they are without a doubt the church everybody needs. Like so many live acts the band’s touring schedule has been decimated by Covid-19 but this Christmas they’re determined to spread some cheer with their incredible new record ‘Christmas Ain’t Cancelled’ an uplifting festive hit, combining lead singer Reverend Jackson’s emotive Tom Waits-esque vocals with stirring piano reminiscent of Billy Joel at his balladic best. The lyrics perfectly capture the current global mood in the lead up to a holiday period full of tentative hope, following a year of pain and isolation for so many-

“I don’t think that I’ll make it home this Christmas
I’m far away and Santa’s sleigh is here.
But though I can’t be near, I’ll spread some cheer,
Coz Christmas ain’t cancelled this year”
